I saw his face
In distress and grief
And i knew he needed God's grace
that would give him peace and relief
Frustrated was he
when he could not see
the riches and wealth at his door
which God had promised him long before
So he raised his hands
And cried aloud
"Where are you Lord?
Art thou hiding behind the clouds?"
The Lord of heavens heard his cries
And wiped the tears streaming down his eyes
God lifed him up from his sorrowful pit
And showed him a throne where he would sit
Then he took God's word
And pierced it like a sword
So the devil flew in grief and pain
And never came back to trouble him again
Soon came a season of joy and praise
And heaven poured down its abundant grace
He lived in victory and never faced defeat
And thus prosperity kissed his feet
This poem is about a person who has been long waiting for the promise of God to be manifested in his life. The waiting period is what gets on his nerves and then reaches a point of total submission and brokenness. This is the time when the Lord comes and picks him up and helps him fight the good fight of faith.
